    About the greatest vulnerabilities of the German Tiger tanks were 
(1) the Shermans, even if they could not penetrate the Tigers' armor, 
could smash the tank commander's periscope, thus blinding him, and (2) 
could shoot off the whip antenna. From the Schneider book, it is obvious 
every German tank had a radio. Story about the platoon commander giving 
a "forward" order and the other tanks did not comply. The commander was 
about to order court martial s for failing to follow a direct order when 
he realized his antenna had been shot away.

     Remember the Shermans having a telephone on the rear of the tank so 
supporting infantry could talk to the tank crew?

     Tanks, even Tigers, had to have infantry support since without it, 
enemy troops could come up to a tank in its blind spots and destroy it 
with explosive charges, bazooka, etc.
