Heh...been there done that.  Don't feel like you're alone.  The command 
sets seem to benefit from some pretty serious bonding practice - that's 
consistent with their use in an aircraft where you have a lot of 
aluminum to bond grounds to.  It's easy to forget that in the heat of 
getting a set running.  They all do well mounted to some kind of ground 
plane...AB5S uses aluminum tape on his mounting plywood, but one could 
use aluminum flashing or sheet aluminum just as well.
