I took mine in the Boston FCC office in 67 or 68, whenever Incentive 
Licensing was to take effect about 3 months later. I had no intention of 
losing any operating privileges.

So did I....but due to many other reasons than missing the date.

At that point, I just said, "Why bother?" and let it lapse. I don't miss it 
in the
least. I DO miss my 2nd RadioTelegraph though.

Well, I had high hopes. If I had it, I could walk into KPH now and operate 
the
station which is still on the air today.

Rats! :-(

Apparently, however, the FCC still gives that exam. I might try for it again
some day.
