[ARC5] OT: DY-17? Hmph!

Thanks for the link Dave, I am still kicking myself for tossing my Model 15 with genuine Teletype table and loop supply into the dumpster at work....don't know what I was thinking...( probably wasn't).. It was without a doubt the loudest hing in creation. When I lived on Long Island, there was a 2 meter RTTY autostart group that was pretty active. I would leave the Model 15 on during the day connected to my Clegg FM-27B and when I cam home there would be several feet of paper on the floor with messages and "RTTY Artwork". One night I forgot to turn off the motor switch before going to bed and someone coming home from the night shift early in the A.M decided to send out a long picture. When the motor on the Model 15 fired up and the keys started flying and that bells started ringing my ex sat up and nearly pushed me out of bed to get that " @$#&ng thing" turned off ! 

I never did that again ! One of the first programs I wrote on my Atari 800 copied RTTY and wrote it to a file. Now when I got home at night instead of picking up a long stream of paper I would just scroll thru the buffer. at the time it was a big improvement, in retrospec some of the magic was definitely lost ..... I miss my Model 15 (can't say the same for the ex)...
