The following link has some interesting information on the airfield that the ARC company had near Boonton, N.J.

Also, relative to the R-23, note that the ART-13 had a couple of optional plug-in oscillators that enabled it to cover the lower frequencies.  I have never understood what that capability was for, but it existed, at least as an option.
