You can find receptacles that will slip over the pins in the cavity in 
the front of the receiver.

My copy of the SCR-274-N  instruction book shows the following 
connections (as viewed from the front. )

The pins are numbered 1 through 8, counter-clockwise, beginning at the 
upper left (10 o'clock position)

# 1 - gain control line
# 2 - ground
# 3 - unused
# 4 - tel (at the six o'clock position)
# 5 - CW osc shut off line
# 6 - L.V (when S-1 is on "MCW" or "CW" and adapter FT-230-A is connected
# 7 - LV when S-1 is on "MCW" or "CW)
# 8 - unused (in center)


adapter FT-230-A is the blank panel with a jumper connecting pins # 6 
and # 7
