[ARC5] Command Receiver Repairs

I have a 6 - 9.1 Mc/s ARA Rx which at first sight looks pristine, so obviously a bodger selected a good one to mess up!
He must have wanted to run it on an external PSU instead of a dynamotor, and didn't have a rack or connector.
So the heaters have been rewired, which shouldn't be an issue to repair, but both coonectors are bodged. The rear connector has three sockets filled with solder and the remains of wires, and the ground pin of the dynamotor connector is broken off for some reason.
These two connectors don't look they are designed to be removed intact, so robbing connectors off a derelict Rx isn't the obvious way forward to me.
Has anybody got experience of repairing the connectors?
Before I apply heat to the rear connector, are the sockets just simple 'plain holes' so a solder-sucker / solder removal braid should do the trick, or are they sprung internally.
Maybe the answer to the broken dynamotor connector pin is an external grounding wire added to a dynamotor in a reversible fashion?
Ideas welcome, please.
Many thanks,
Andy
