The basic switching is shown in the docs page I referenced previously.  
All that is actually needed for changing channels on the *receiver* is a 
two pole 6 position switch, so that's the good news.  Taigh's pdf shows 
a very nice way of using such a simple solution in the photo that show 
the "special control box".  Looks like it is mounted in a "blank" C-87 
box without the holes punched into it.  It must have been nice to call 
Collins and get such on a moment's notice... :-)

Interestingly enough, there were actually Yardney tuned  R-26 and R-27 
receivers that had modified nomenclature plates on them.  I have an 
altogether too generous transfer from from AB5S that says "R-26M" on the 
top plate, and apparently reflects modification at a higher depot level 
than the field mods that form the majority of the sets.
