[ARC5] [Milsurplus] TCS RF ammeter or thermocouple replacement

Yes, I've used TCS for years by just loading via the plate current but I
would like
to get the RF Ammeter going again instead of it just staring at me, one
eyed,
begging me to do something! Just dismounted it, judging from burred slots on
the tiny emplacement
screws, this meter's been worked on before. The terminal bolt nuts, flush
against the bakelite/presumanbly
thermocouple base/are VERY firmly tightened. I've repaired several meter
movements
before, but have never "resurrected" a thermocouple.

Had and still have another burnt our RF Ammeter but I didn't see how I was
going to get at the thermocouple
bulb without shattering the glass -- maybe they can function w/o being in a
vacuum - that is if
the thermcouple can be repaired as someone else one list says they can..

JFOR -- my thought, too that since it shows some reading, it's
not totally hopless -- I could also just multiply the readings by about
four!.

Well what do you know , TCS_Radios at yahoogroups.com ! Thanks for that!

Henry, Cph.
