regarding guides to WWII radio sets & systems.

Writing as a novice in this field I can say I found the index to ALL the
sets (alphabetic) listing individual items (eg BC-453, BC454 ...) and
the system that is made up from the individual components (eg SCR-274N)
very useful. Next my interest turned to circuits, and (in the case of
the ARA, BC-45x, R-2x items) a method to distinguish between these
items. At one stage I believed that the three sets were identical. It
would be useful to include in the list the names of each document that
applies to a particular set. I think, with that information, it would
be possible to find the document, and since the location will change
over time, I wouldn't try to say where documents can be found.

So, this is for most pieces of equipment; the items given in your
original e-mail could be dealt with in detail. I know very little about
the other items, but I'll be every person will develop a specific
interest. As an example I know where there is a BC-779, in working
condition. A good beginner's introduction should allow some-one who
knows little about a particular set to know the basic function of the
set (in terms of receiver, transmitter, control box, glide path receiver
....)

That's about as much as I can say usefully.
