[ARC5] Guide to WWII Aircraft Radio

Need opinions:
If one were penning a "guide" for new collectors of
U.S. WWII Aircraft Radio- only those primarily involved
in communication, not navigation or EW-
he cannot, of course, hope to include every piece of equipment
that was used. Some limits are necessary to keep
a first issue of such a work managable and "beginner friendly."
This would not be a complete history of each set;
it would promote an understanding of the principles
distinguishing collectable WWII aircraft radios,
a basic understanding of the sets, their collectable componants
and the relative scarcity of them plus some guidance on
restoration and operation.
I would exclude those sets that were
primarily "lend-lease," such as the Bendix TA-RA line,
and those for which little contract and order information
is available, such as GO.

Sets I would propose in such a "beginner's guide" would include-

Army:
SCR-183
SCR-283
SCR-274N

SCR-287
SCR-522
AN/ARC-2
AN/ARC-3
AN/ARC-8

Navy:
GF
GF/RU
GP
RAV
RAT
ATA/ARA
ATB/ARB
ATC
ATD
AN/ARC-1
AN/ARC-4
AN/ARC-5

I'd include "sample" chapters on Ferrying Command and W.A.S.P.,
on a few Allied and Axis sets and one touching on ARC-type-12.

I understand there are partisans of sets like GO and TA-12,
but this is meant to introduce a person with a new interest
and give him and understanding of what he does and does not have.
That person is more likely to have heard-of
and be interested in the sets above.

Opinions, please.
Thanks,
Dave S.
