I am using my Heathkit C-3 capacitor checker, which is a bridge type of 
device.

To measure capacitance, you connect one lead from each end of the cap 
and swing the balance pot.

Ah! I see what you mean: with one lead of all three caps connected together, 
what you have is two caps in series, so of COURSE it would measure 1/2 of 
one.

OK. Not a problem.
