If you can recover the IF cans, coil pack and BFO coil,
you can transplant them into a common BC-453 chassis.
There are other small componant changes needed to get
it exactly "right," but it will work after alignment.
If your 453 is one of the sets with only a couple of pins
in the remote drawer and you want to use an Accessory
plug-in, you'll need to wire-up the drawer
with the full set of pins from your parter.
If you want to get as close as possible with this set,
Ray Mote produced a list of the small componant
differences some years ago. Change a few resistors,
realign and you've saved a BCB rig from oblivion.
If you go "the full Monty," there'll be no functional
difference between it and a "factory" -946.
