[ARC5] [Milsurplus] D-Day

I'll never forget my Dad telling me that we could kick cans all we wanted  
as soon as the war was won, meanwhile, they had to go to the scrap drive.   
I'll also remember VJ Day.  My Dad borrowed a trumpet from the company  
band, (yes, in those days some companies were very patriotic and his was one  
that won the Army Navy "E") he was not a musician but we sat on the front 
porch  and he made plenty of noise but never succeeded in putting any two notes  
together!
