[ARC5] the age old battle of modify or sanctify and the Demilldilemma

Do the military collectors have nets using this kind of equipment?  The 
ARC-5/SCR-274 equipment was made for a purpose much different from ham 
radio. As built they are very poor ham radios.

My interest in them is nearly the same now as it was in the 50's. I am 
satisfied with getting hacked units that can be modified to a point where 
they are useable on today's ham bands.

The HF bands today are much different here in the PNW than they were in the 
late 50's.
