Hi,

A small amount of chirp and shaping hardness (especially on break) gives
a signal some "character". Weak signals with some "character" can be
clearly copied right past much stronger, nearby, *perfect* silvertone
signals and lots of QRN. Just don't overdo it <g>. Listen to some of the
weak signals on your radio during the antique radio rally on the air
with the 29s and some of the other old gear. They are not obnoxious at
all and you can pick them out from any crowd.

73,

Bill KU8H
