[ARC5] Command sets in Germany

Hello everyone,
I grew up in Germany and made contact with the Command set System in my
teens. Approx 20 miles from my hometown a company had contracts with the
American Air Force to refurbish Drop Tanks and repair electronic
equipment. They went out of business and one of the Employees was
allowed to take the entire inventory of electronic equipment. I believe
that this was one way American Surplus entered Germany.

The guy lived near my Hometown and when I found out about him selling
equipment I took my Bicycle and visit him. I was able to purchase
several Command set transmitters from him. This was the beginning for me
to collect Command sets. I was only able to start seriously after I
moved to the United States in 1968. At that time fellow hams would give
away receivers and transmitters when asked. Today the situation is
different.
The last two month I spend some time to refurbish / repair / unmodifying
about 15 receivers. Duplicates went on the sales table at the last 2 ham
fest. They sold very fast. The better ones are now on display in my
shop. My goal is to do the same with my collection of Transmitters and
have them ready by spring next year.
