Leslie,
ARC-5 transmitters lend themselves tbeautifully to simple (retro-returnable)
DSB mods.
I have an article where you just apply push-pull audio to the 1625 screen
grids.
CQ Magazine, May, 1957 - pp 54-5: "Instant Sideband" James P. Bonner,W4EFH.
(There also are DSB ARC-5 articles in the much derided and belated but, to
some,
quite useful, CQ "Command Set" book.)
I also intend to try this out as project no.399! (maybe do somethng similar
with my TCS).
Wonder what the response to DSB on the SSB bands would be -- double spectrum
usage
but allows choice of choosing btwn 2 sidebands - stereo? (yust yoking / just
joking!
-this might give vast new opportunites for schizos).
Henry, Cph.
