Hi Bill,
What you write is true for digest subscriptions. It could be no other way.
But, I subscribe to NO list in digest format. ALL of my several list
subscriptions are received in the form of individual postings.
There seems to be three major variations to the response of selecting the
REPLY (to originator) button, for example:
- Postings from the MILSURPLUS list cause ONLY the originator's address to appear
in the TO box. (This is the very best response.)
- Postings from the ARC5 list cause BOTH the address of the originator AND the
address of the list to appear in the TO block. (This is the very worst response.)
- Postings from yet a different list cause the list address alone to appear in the
TO block, regardless of REPLY or REPLY ALL having been selected. (This isn't a
a great response either.)
There's nothing that can be done on my end to alter these varied responses to
postings from a list.
The ARC5 list response changed some time ago, before which it was just like the
MILSURPLUS list. May those happy days return!
