Hello John,
I think your example shows a problem with the business of an on-line - the cost of attending a post office once a day to sell one or two items.  It takes about 20-30 minutes wrap something, travel to a PO and drop it in the chute.  People in this situation must resist the temptation to add the cost of THEIR labour to the cost of postage.  Some can't resist.
