Ken, I am ready to concede on whatever the facts really are. When I check the eBay news letter, all I see is special rates for top rated and power sellers and eBay's usual emphasis on steering you into using UPS rather than USPS or any other service.  When I go to Turbo Lister, which is the program I use to compose eBay ads, I still see the options to use whatever shipping service I want, and the option to add or not add any handling charge which, if added, jacks up the total shipping charge to the buyer and may account for some of the high shipping charges we see.   From the latest "news" that eBay sent out. You might care to check it for 
  yourself. Also, from complaints from sellers whose auctions I routinely check.
