[ARC5] ZB discussion! - WWII Aircraft

Are you sure the Helldiver was bigger than the TBF/TBM Avenger?  They 
were in use long after the war as anti-sub,  radar picket planes, and 
COD's.  The Hellcat was a lot bigger than the Wildcat, not what I'd call
a small aircraft.  I got to meet Adolph Galland at a Salt Lake city gun 
show years ago and he was showing a Messerschmidt BF-109.  Now -that's- 
a small airplane.  I couldn't believe how small it was.  It's hard to 
imagine the guts it took to tear into a 1000 bomber formation escorted 
by swarms of P-47's, P-38's, and P-51's  in such a little fragile 
fighter plane.
