Any carrier based aircraft of today is lager than the largest carrier based
aircraft of WWII. The F4F wildcat and F6F Hellcat were very small airplanes.
The largest carrier based aircraft of WWII was the Curtis SB2C Helldiver.
The flight crews named it the BEAST!
