You have found yourself a honey!
That is a a receiver used in one of the very first 
glide bombs deployed by the Army at the end of WWII.
I have the manual here somewhere.  The receiver was
lock-tuned and a 4-tone detector decoded the signals 
from a crude, joystick-connected transmitter on the
"mother" bomber.  I will see if I can find the info.
Very nice find!
