I think you just hit it.... the plugs.  They take a #1.

Don't forget the odd-ball spanner on the back of the AN/ARC-2,
that removes the rear vent plugs and releases the case.  
I pulled hair out trying to discover why the blasted case 
wouldn't come off, until I looked closer at the vents 
and the wrench.... DOH!!
