Hello group,
I subscribe to a newsletter from NXP semiconductors.
The newsletter describes or advertises new products - devices, chips, application notes.

Here is the latest:
SSL2103 - SMPS controller IC for dimmable LED lighting

This chips is a switching regulator, fed directly from the rectified mains.

I ask (we all know the answer):
What will happen to your nice quiet RAK and RAL receivers when these noisy critters are installed in every house in every suburb?

I say the noise from a switching LED controller will make a 12K8s as quiet as the central Australian desert at mid-day. (it's very quiet in the desert at mid-day).

Is there nothing we can do so stop such lunacy on a city-wide scale?

Yes, this is off-topic, but it's something of interest to all, I'm certain.
