p.p.s.  Have you seen examples of the outstanding refurbishment 
and employment of SCR-274N in 1949  by Australian Wireless 
for the R.A.A.F., and for commercial use?
One of our very kind members from your great land sent me
some original documentation for what became the SCR-274NX.
That's going to be an interesting chapter some day.
The set was refurbed for 12-volts, and they used two 
24-volt dynamotors in series to develop the transmitter B+.
