[ARC5] Fw: ARC-5 Crystal Question

One of the GDO's, the Kenwood version, provided a simple conductive probe
tip that lightly coupled (capacitively vs the usual magnetic coupling) to an
LC that had insufficient external flux such as a torroid. The stubby probe
plugged into one of the pins of the coil socket. I think you get more
pulling with this method but for any LC that does not have a significant
external magnetic field (i.e. a torroid, pot core, or crystal blank), this
may be the only way. Fortunately, a crystal in its holder can be treated as
if it were an inductor and hooked up in lieu of the coil.
