This is a generic comment, not Command Set specific. Generally, an
original, MWO or FC installed coaxial chassis connector on military and better
quality civilian or commercial sets will be mounted behind the panel. Which
requires a larger hole. Ham hacks are almost always mounted to the front of
the panel, and often have only two screws installed. The other two holes may
be there but not line up with the holes in the connector.
There were a few TCS converted to coaxial cable for submarine use. But the
connectors used were Type -N, not UHF. So if you come across a TCS
receiver or transmitter with Type-N connectors, it's probably official. However,
the modified set used a different antenna tuner than the common one. So a
modified standard antenna tuner would not be official.
