You may be correct. 

However, I KNOW there are some banana plugs which are 
an exact fit to the ARC-5 "holes".

A year or two ago, one of the members of this list 
discovered the correct ones and made several plugs for his 
ARC-5s that worked perfectly.

I don't know if he is connected with this list any longer, but I 
MAY be able to dig his e-mails out.

If I can, I will re-post them here.
