As has been the case in the past, quite a few people have been helpful
with equipment and the occasional tidbit of information regarding the
book plus the Noelle-machines.
Taking last first, Jim Whartenby has provided an excellent start on
the wire needed for those machines.
A.R.C. and related bitz 'n pieces have come from Robert, Larry, Brian
(Clarke, since I think there are two), Will, Dave (Stinson, in this
case) and one or two I've likely forgotten but I'm sure will let me
know one way or another. Add to that list, ePay and a couple pilots I
ran into who needed to empty storage space and were quite happy not to
have to discard at least part of what they had.
Mahalo nui loa to all concerned. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Now, about the connector. It was definitely made by A.R.C. (says so
right there on the phenolic insert in an arc just inboard of the pins)
and it looks like the same sort as used in the Model D sets but it's
slightly larger (1-1/2") in diameter and has no identification on the
[blackened steel] shell. Starting at the top right next to the
locking pin, the sockets are numbered 4-3-5-9-7-6 with 8 in the
center. Between the center socket and the locking pin is a hole that
appears to be for a locking pin.
The source of the connector and I agree that it's likely prewar and
civilian. Any thoughts regarding specifics would be appreciated.
Again, many thanks for all the help.
Best regards,
Michael, WH7HG
