[ARC5] ARC-5 repair

Sorry for such a noob sort of question, but last night I found several 
bad bypass capacitors in my BC-453.  It was howling like crazy so I 
soldered an alligator clip onto one end of a .05uf and started probing 
with the free end, and before I had it stable I had to make two more.   
So, what is the best practice for repairing or replacing the 3 section 
cans that are bolted to the sidewall?    I don't suppose I'd need as 
much mechanical support as the can provides, but I hate to have parts 
just dangling out in space.   It's my first time fixing a command receiver.
