Illinois Bronze Paint Company used to make some extremely good wrinkle paint that came in quite a number of different colors. Unfortunately, due to EPA regulations, this paint has not been available for quite a number of years.
The Krylon wrinkle paint, in my experience, does a better job than the other brands that I have used. However, I am still not pleased with using it on very large surfaces. The Plasti-Kote wrinkle paint is VERY "spotty" in how it performs. For example, I make replacement crystal door covers for the Heath DX-35 and DX-40. I paint these 3.5 inch by 4 inch doors 9 at a time and out of the 9 maybe 2 or 3 have a usable finish. The others range from bad to . . .
I was using Rust-Oleum Stone Creations paint for a pretty good wrinkle finish. Of course you have to over spray with the desired color. However, I recently have switched to Plasti-Kote "Projekt Paint" Stone Touch paint. This paint produces a finer, more even, finish that looks very good. Now it takes a couple minutes of practice (like spraying on a piece of cardboard) to get the right "touch". But, after learning how to apply the paint getting an even finish is pretty easy. For some reason, the gray paint in both the Rust-Oleum and the Plasti-Kote paint give the best finish. Both paint lines are available in various colors but the gray is best.

The type I used to buy there in the late 70s/early 80s was the VHT brand, and it was excellent stuff. Couple good coats, into the oven, voila - thick wrinkle. Not sure if it's still available considering how regulations have changed since then.
One word of warning: cure it well, or it will remain soft for years. I have a National cabinet here that still has things stick to it if left on top for any amount of time.
