Hi John,

Later than WWII in fact. A former works colleague told me of using 
R1155/T1154 on ASR launches as late as the 70s and I believe the one they 
have/had on show at the IWM at Duxford came from such a launch. Makes sense, 
I suppose, as their "customers" were most likely aircraft in trouble and 
using similar equipment. Later on I'd think they retained them as standby 
sets, most A/C having changed to VHF/UHF by then.
