I have period documentation of SCR-287 and SCR-274N being mounted
in fast motor launches (sorta-like PT-boats) being used in the
South Pacific in air-sea rescue work. They launched from
life-saving stations on misc. islands in the south Pacific.
Reads as a good example of "The new gear went to the front."
"Strip the radios out of this hanger queen and install them in the boat."
I also have photographic evidence of SCR-274N used for ground
control at a Carribean air base.

All that information is in my "stuff" at home.
Soon as I can, I'll get to it and look that up.
The tube line-up in the early sets was different, for one thing.

Navy Ships 242 says ARA-2 cancelled and reassigned to ARA, IIRC.
More information when I get home.
