[ARC5] Version A ATA Components??

Thanks, Robert.  That makes sense.

It would be interesting to know if these "version A" ATA components use the same connectors as the AN/ARC-5 transmitting system.  There are *only* two electrical components of the AN/ARC-5 transmitting system that are directly interchangeable with equivalent ATA components (DY-8, RE-2).  Different connectors prevent inadvertent mixing of the visually similar but electrically incompatible components.  Assuming that the same incompatibility existed between standard ATA and "version A" ATA components, then it would seem better to designate the new system with something other than "ATA" (like "ATE" or some such).

I wonder if any of the "version A" components still exist.  Wouldn't those be something to find!
