What Robert said. I think (95% certain) I found that information in
an early Navy ARC-5 manual, if not in the front then in the parts list
where much really cool information lives. In any case, it doesn't
appear in the combined Navy & AAF/USAF versions.
This is why I like having both early and later manuals. The later
ones like what I have now have info on most of the neat toys etc but
the early ones have information that was dropped in the later ones,
including accessories like control boxes and Navy-only information
like accounting numbers. I wish I had the library I had on the
mainland in combination with what I have now. Both the ARC-5 and the
SCR-274-N manuals were pre-1945 - 1944 and 1943 respectively, as I
recall, and I had at least one military Type 12 manual from around
1951-1952.
But if wishes were parts, I'd have a fleet from the MB to the HMMWV,
each with period-appropriate HF equipment aboard, and one each TBM &
B-25 to go with them.
