Thanks Dave. From what you and several others have said it looks like my
friend was right. I'm trawling through the ham radio magazines of the era to
see if there are any modded-BC-455s advertised for sale amongst all the
regular Command gear.
I have forwarded your message to him, maybe he still has the RX in the attic
or somewhere!
