Some of the Western Electric-built SCR-274-N receivers and controls had  
plastic dials. I think all of the  Aircraft Radio Corp.  receiver and 
control box dials were sheet aluminum.  I have an RAV receiver with the 
dial marked 520-1500 KC and  ARA and  AN/ARC-5  receivers with dials 
marked .52 - 1.5 mc.

    Western tried to use as much plastic as they could, for example the 
knobs  on the IF cans were plastic in most W-E sets and machined 
aluminum in the A.R.C. sets.
