[ARC5] RFL and ARC

Gordon/All:
I'm trying to get this data together since I finally found it while
unpacking.

I'm not clear on the exact relationship between Radio Frequency Laboritories
and Aircraft Radio Corporation.  Some documentation I have suggests
that ARC was intended as an installation and "service after the sale" arm.
Others that it was the "aircraft" arm of what was intended to be a wider
addressing of the radio market.  Others, that ARC was for engineering,
but that is contradicted by other documents I have.

Does anyone have a good grasp on this relationship-
how it was founded and in what way it evolved?
I know by 1930, the "buzz" was about ARC, not RFL,
at least in the aircraft comm field.
