[ARC5] ARC-5/SCR-274N, etc. series transmitter identification

Have what I thought was a black crinkle finish BC-457 (4-5.3 Mhz) ARC 
series transmitter. Usual BC-45X series design. Missing top cover, and 
right side chassis has no provision (missing the 2 drilled holes) for 
nomclature tag.

A more careful examination of the rear chassis, left side says: Cont. 
no. 74912, ARC #5010, 4-5.3 MC., Aircraft Radio Corporation. To the 
right, there is a (US) NAVY Anchor. Above the anchor, it looks like 
something has been rubbed away. The BC-457 is Army. Does this mean this 
unit is a Navy CBY-52209, ARA/ATA series? (I've seen ARA/ATA stuff with 
dates obliterated...) Had this unit all year without suspecting... Bill
