I sure agree 100% to Robert's comments. The old BC-640 is a very stable
rig IF specs are not exceeded.. Just once in 24 years in the USAF did ever
get a pink ticket with a rig and that was an out of tune BC-191. While in
the USAF I was always working radio and would fire up the spare rigs on the
ham bands and with that on exception never got a bad report. Am sorry to see
so much of that old gear slowly disapearing and pices like it was gold. Some
of the new generation rigs are hitting marketplace but cost more that the
most expensive ham rig. Nice thing about those rigs like the 610, 639 and
640 is you do not have to hear the shack.
