[ARC5] general question

I use a neat little B & K tester that measures LC components,
that I picked up at a hamfest. It measures ALL of my chokes, RF 
and AF. I used to use one of those big fancy boatanchor military 
LC bridges, but I find this one a lot easier to use for just getting 
basic values. No extra parameters are measured though.

The current rating you can esstimate based on the size of the wire 
used. If it's skinny wire you use it in oscillators and buffers.
If it's 24 gauge or thicker you can use it in a final.
That's a VERY rough guide... I hope it helps.
