Hello again, Tom. I don't exactly know the era, although if I look 
carefully enough at my manual it may tell me. If so I will pass that info 
on to you.

However, all the ARC-5X is, is a 14 volt version of the R-23/ARC-5, or 
"Q" 5er.

I really like those, BTW, for NDB dxing after some suitable non-invasive 
modifications.
