[ARC5] Serial number questions(SCR-274-N)

The recent discussion of serial numbers
and production leads to questions that
have been in the back of my mind.

Were SCR-274-N sets manufactured, 
delivered and/or installed as matching
serial number sets? 

Doing a quick total of production of major AAF
aircraft types of WWII leads to a number well
over 100,000, which seems to be somewhere
near the total SCR-274-N production.  Is it safe to assume that
the AAF told the Signal Corps to order one SCR-274-N
per plane, with some spares?
