Storing radio equipment in plastic bags may not be good
practice.
If you pack it during low-humidity weather, everything's
probably ok, but if it was a damp, high-humidity day you've
probably sealed in some of the air's moisture content.
Late-model Japanese transceivers are sealed in plastic bags,
but they are assembled in low-humidity factories, and it is
expected that they will be sold and unpacked within months,
rather than years or decades.
For us collectors, it may be better to pack items in material
that can "breathe", such as an old pillow slip or cotton sheet.
