You friend is blessed by the Gods.
This a Lorenz blind-landing receiver, one of the
"Holy Grails" of Command Set collecting.
The Eight Air Force in England during WWII converted a few hundred
BC-455 receivers to 28-41 MC to be used as receivers for the
British Lorenz glide-slope system. It was only in use
for a short time. It should have a four-pin connector
in the place where the front drawer goes and a
British coax connector coming out the side.
Tell your friend if he's interested in any trades
or a sale, this long-time Command Set collector
would be grateful.
