I recently acquired what was left of a BC-969(?) 3 - 4 Mhz
transmitter. It was modified sometime in its life and now is
pretty much of a hulk.
However, the chassis is in reasonable shape, except for a couple
of added holes.
The following was added:
Key jack
Hole in the right rear side for a wire carrying HV into it
A 5 pin socket in place of the rear ARC specific power connector
The following was removed:
The power connector on the rear panel
The variable inductor on the front panel
The relay behind the front panel
The antenna connector
The relay from inside near the final sockets
The relay down further on the side
The big black resistor
All the tubes.
One of the connectors to the 1625 plates from the final tank
coil.
The entire louvred top cover
The final amp tube compartment cover.
The clear plastic from the variable inductor's window.
What was left:
All the tube sockets
The final tank coil
All the tuning capacitors and tuning mechanism.
The VFO can and its innards
The dial and knob
The bottom plate with added feet.
Is this thing worth trying to restore?
