No, you're mistaken. You're thinking of conju-gals.
Seriously, some great posts over the last few days.
I'd especially like to thank David Stinson for starting
the ball rolling with his initial post, and for persevering
despite the flak. I now have a much better idea of how
to match a command transmitter into a 50 ohm load,
and the harmonic level measurements look very good
indeed, which is encouraging.
My own view is that an "un-un", like any of the balun
varieties, will only do a decent transformation if both
sides face purely resistive terminations.
Any problems arising from reactive terminations are not
too serious if the balun is air-wound, but in the case of
ferrite cored baluns, reactive terminations lead to high
losses (overheating) of the core and permanent damage.
