Dave,

Here is the data I collected on the tuning settings of the transmitters on
various loads:

Load X-mtr Roller Coupling Ant. Current
33' wire '696 15 10 0.5
with cap '459 10 10 0.5

16.5' wire '696 18 10 0.5
with cap '459 13.5 7 0.75

16.5' wire '696 won't tune
no cap '459 7.5 7 0.5

dummy '696 12.5 5 3.0
                '459 8.5 4 5.0

The dummy load is based on the A-61 phantom antenna and consists of the
vacuum cap in series with a 6-ohm resistor between the transmitter antenna
terminal and ground. The cap is connected in series with the antenna where
indicated.

I also wipped up an unun based upon some info on a website. I made it using
a T200-2 core wound with 10 bifilar turns of #18 stranded wire. Into a
50-ohm dummy load I was getting about 10 watts output on CW with the roller
inductors set at 0 and the coupling set at 10 on both transmitters.

Sean
